American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (AEO) reported a profit for first quarter that decreased from the same period last year

The company’s bottom line came in at $31.74 million, or $0.16 per share. This compares with $95.46 million, or $0.46 per share, in last year’s first quarter.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose 2.9% to $1.06 billion from $1.03 billion last year.

Autodesk Lowers Full Year Outlook

While reporting its results for the first quarter on Thursday, Autodesk Inc. (ADSK) lowered its outlook for the full year.

Looking forward, the company now expects earnings of $3.24 to $3.47 per share, adjusted earnings of $6.43 to $6.66 per share and revenues of $4.96 billion to $5.06 billion.

Previously, the company expected earnings of $3.74 to $4.11 per share, adjusted earnings of $6.46 to $6.83 per share and revenues of $5.02 billion to $5.12 billion.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters currently estimate earnings of $6.69 per share and revenues of $5.04 billion.

According CFO Debbie Clifford, the outlook was revised to reflect “Russia and currency movements during the quarter.”

Dell Q1 Profit Surge; Shares Up 5%

Dell Technologies Inc. (DELL) Thursday reported a surge in profit for the first quarter, as quarterly revenues rose 16% on strong demand for business PCs and networking services. The shares jumped 5% in extended trading.

Round Rock, Texas-based Dell’s first-quarter profit from continuing operations rose to $1.07 billion or $1.37 per share from $659 million or $0.84 per share last year.

Adjusted earnings were $1.43 billion or $1.84 per share for the period, up from $1.06 billion or $1.35 per share last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $1.39 per share. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue for the quarter grew 16% to $26.12 billion from $22.59 billion last year. Analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $25.04 billion.

Client Solutions Group revenues grew to 17% to a record $15.6 billion, driven by continued strength in commercial PCs, with commercial PC revenue of $12 billion, a 22% increase year-over-year.

Infrastructure Solutions Group revenue rose 16% to $9.3 billion, as servers and networking revenue was up 22% and storage revenue inched up 9%.

DELL closed Thursday’s trading at $43.93, up $0.63 or 1.45%, on the NYSE. The stock further gained $2.33 or 5.30% in the after-hours trading.

Ulta Beauty Lifts FY22 Outlook; Stock Up 6%

While reporting its results for the first quarter on Thursday, Ulta Beauty, Inc. (ULTA) lifted its outlook for the full year 2022. The shares jumped 6% in extended trading.

Looking forward, the company now expects earnings of $19.20 to $20.10 per share and revenues of $9.35 billion to $9.55 billion.

Previously, the company expected earnings of $18.20 to $18.70 per share and revenues of $9.05 billion to $9.15 billion .

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters currently expect earnings of $18.66 per share and revenues of $9.18 billion for the year. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude one-time items.

ULTA closed Thursday’s trading at $377.96, up $25.01 or 7.09%, on the Nasdaq. The stock further gained $24.78 or 6.56% in the after-hours trading.

Costco Wholesale Corporation Bottom Line Rises In Q3, Beats estimates

Costco Wholesale Corporation (COST) announced a profit for its third quarter that increased from the same period last year and beat the Street estimates.

The company’s earnings came in at $1.35 billion, or $3.04 per share. This compares with $1.22 billion, or $2.75 per share, in last year’s third quarter.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $3.03 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude special items.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose 16.2% to $52.60 billion from $45.28 billion last year.

SHANGHAI (Reuters) – China’s capital Beijing reported 22 new symptomatic coronavirus cases for May 26, down from 36 a day earlier, the city government said on Friday.

Asymptomatic cases fell to seven from nine from the previous day, it said.
