Omicron drives Christmas weekend flight cancellations above 1,500

Airlines cancelled more than 300 flights Sunday as disruptions from the omicron variant of Covid-19 continued to impact crews and staffing.

Since Friday, airlines scrubbed more than 1,500 U.S. flights, disrupting travel during the busy holiday weekend. United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and JetBlue Airways cited the spread of omicron as a reason for the cancellations.

Delta cancelled 5% of its schedule, or 131 flights on Sunday, while United had cancelled 95 flights, or 4% of its mainline schedule, according to flight-tracking site FlightAware. Ten percent of JetBlue's schedule, or 131 flights were cancelled Sunday.

Jerry Jeudy didn’t register a reception last week against the Bengals. He’s getting off to a much better start this week against the Raiders.

The Broncos receiver caught a pass from Drew Lock in the second that resulted in a 40-yard gain for the Broncos.

He caught another pass on the drive that helped set up a 49-yard field goal for Brandon McManus to cut Las Vegas’ lead down to 7-3. After the drive, Jeudy has two catches for 54 yards on the day.

Bradley Chubb snagged his first career interception on Sunday.

The Broncos linebacker lived up to his “Astronaut” moniker, leaping to deflect Raiders quarterback Derek Carr’s pass attempt and then coming with the ball. Chubb then nearly ran it back into the end zone before being tackled at the 1-yard line.

The play set up a easy Javonte Williams touchdown run up the gut to give Denver a 13-7 lead entering halftime.

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s Shionogi & Co. Ltd announced on Monday that phase III of its clinical trial for a new COVID-19 vaccine has begun in Vietnam.

The pharmaceutical company has already conducted clinical trials in Japan, but had said previously they will conduct multiple trials globally as well.

RBL Bank down 15% with CEO on medical leave

The bank named Rajeev Ahuja as interim managing director and CEO.

Shares of RBL Bank Ltd dived 15% in early trading on Monday after the company’s top boss went on medical leave and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) named an additional director to RBL’s board over the weekend.

RBL said on Saturday the central bank appointed Yogesh Dayal, chief general manager at RBI, as an additional director for two years.

RBL’s board accepted a request from Vishwavir Ahuja, managing director and chief executive officer, to proceed on medical leave with immediate effect, the company said on Saturday.

The bank named Rajeev Ahuja as interim managing director and CEO. In a press call on Sunday evening, Mr. Rajeev attempted to allay concerns about the management changes and said the bank’s business fundamentals were intact with scope for "tremendous improvement".

In the past the country’s central bank has named its officials on boards of banks where there might have been poor financials or governance concerns. However, RBL reiterated that business was as usual and it did not have any near term capital needs.

RBL’s shares were trading at ₹147 a piece at 0415 GMT

HP Adhesives shares list with over 16% gain

The initial public offer of HP Adhesives was subscribed 20.96 times this month.

Shares of HP Adhesives on Monday listed with a premium of over 16 per cent against the issue price of ₹ 274.

The stock listed at ₹319, a gain of 16.42% from the issue price on BSE. It further zoomed 22.24% to ₹334.95.

On NSE, it made its debut at ₹315, reflecting a jump of 14.96%.

The initial public offer of HP Adhesives was subscribed 20.96 times this month.

The IPO of up to 45,97,200 equity shares had a price range of ₹262-274 per share.

Unistone Capital was the manager to the offer.
