Maren Morris has once again opened up about gun violence and asked for “common-sense gun reform.”
In a wide-ranging interview with Esquire, the country music star said she believes there is no need for anyone to own a semi-automatic or automatic rifle.
“I’m from Texas and I’ve grown up around guns … But as much fun as that was growing up, do I feel particularly safe around guns now? No,” Morris said.
Morris also discussed the fallout from the mass shooting during the Route 91 musical festival in Las Vegas in October 2017.
“It feels like we’re all dealing with perpetual PTSD. The only way that I’ve been able to continue touring and having confidence on stage is through conversations (about this) with fans,” said Morris, who performed at the festival a day before the shooting.
“If they went through that and they can still buy a ticket and show up and pay for parking and get in the door, then I can certainly walk out on stage,” the 28-year-old musician added.
