Philadelphia declares March 15-17 ‘Meek Mill Weekend’

Philadelphia has nothing but love for Meek Mill.

The City of Brotherly Love dedicated the upcoming weekend to the “24/7” rapper and criminal justice advocate, according to WPVI-TV.

Meek was honored at Thursday’s Philadelphia City Council meeting, during which Council President Darrell Clark declared March 15-17 “Meek Mill Weekend.”

At the meeting, the 31-year-old thanked his hometown for standing behind him while he controversially served five months in prison for a probation violation last year.

“I wanted to do something where I felt important enough to give people like me coming up a fair shot in life,” he said.

The declaration coincides with the rapper’s “The Motivation Tour” coming to the city on Saturday.
