Stock Alert: Lumber Liquidators Climbs 13% As Quarterly Results Beat Estimates

Shares of Lumber Liquidators Holdings, Inc. (LL) are rising almost 13 percent or $2.80 in Monday’s morning trade at $24.92 after the specialty retailer of hard-surface flooring reported third-quarter results that surpassed analysts’ expectations.

Monday, Lumber Liquidators said its third-quarter net income surged to $15.50 million or $0.53 per share from $1.05 million or $0.04 per share in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted earnings were $0.67 per share, compared to $0.07 per share last year. Net sales rose 12.1 percent, to $295.83 million from $263.96 million in the prior-year period. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had a consensus estimate for earnings of $0.23 per share on revenues of $275.72 million.

Lumber Liquidators has traded in a range of $3.77 to $29.60 in the past 52 weeks.

Shares of Daseke, Inc. (DSKE) are gaining over 5% on Monday morning as the company continues its momentum from Friday after reporting its results.

Friday, Daseke reported a third-quarter earnings that trumped Wall Street estimates. The stock has gained nearly 20% since reporting its third quarter results. For the year-to-date period, Daseke shares have surged nearly 120%.

Daseke provides transportation and logistics solutions, primarily focussed on flatbed and specialized freight in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The company transports aircraft parts, manufacturing equipment, structural steel, pressure vessels, wind turbine blades, commercial glass, high security cargo, arms, ammunition and explosives, lumber, and building and construction materials.

European Economics Preview: Eurozone Final Factory PMI Data Due

Factory Purchasing Managers’ survey results from euro area are due on Monday, headlining a light day for the European economic news.

At 3.00 am ET, unemployment from Austria and manufacturing PMI data from Norway, Poland and Hungary are due.

At 3.15 am ET, Spain’s manufacturing PMI data is due. Economists forecast the index to rise to 51.0 in October from 50.8 in the previous month.

At 3.45 am ET, IHS Markit releases Italy’s manufacturing PMI data. The index is expected to climb moderately to 53.5 in October from 53.2 a month ago.

Thereafter, final PMI results are due from France and Germany at 3.50 am and 3.55 am ET, respectively.

At 4.00 am ET, IHS Markit is slated to issue euro area final manufacturing PMI data. The PMI is expected to rise to a 26-month high of 54.4 in October, as initially estimated, from 53.7 a month ago.

Half an hour later, UK factory PMI data is due. The index score is seen at 53.3 in October, in line with preliminary estimate.

Stock Alert: Marathon Petroleum Rises 5% On Narrower Than Estimated Q3 Loss

Shares of Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) are gaining more than 5 percent or $1.59 in Monday’s morning trade at $31.09 after the company’s adjusted loss for the quarter came in narrower than analysts’ expectations.

Monday, Marathon Petroleum said its third-quarter net loss was $1.02 billion or $1.57 per share, compared to net income of $1.10 billion or $1.66 per share in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted net loss was $1.00 per share, compared to adjusted earnings of $1.63 per share last year. Total revenues and other income declined to $17.55 billion from $27.69 billion a year ago. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had a consensus estimate for net loss of $1.70 per share on revenues of $17.99 billion.

Marathon Petroleum has traded in a range of $15.26 to $68.73 in the past 52 weeks.

Stock Alert: Insperity Rises On Q3 Results, Guidance

Shares of human resources and business performance solutions provider Insperity, Inc. (NSP) are rising more than 8% Monday morning on better-than-expected third-quarter results.

In the third quarter, the company reported net income of $19.91 million or $0.51 per share compared with $25.58 million or $0.63 per share in the same quarter a year ago.

Adjusted EPS of $0.91 beat the average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters at $0.45.

Revenue for the quarter decreased to $1.008 billion from $1.043 billion last year. The consensus estimate was for $980.09 million.

For the fourth quarter, the company expects adjusted earnings to be in the range of $0.20- $0.38. Analysts see earnings of $0.21 per share for the quarter.

For the full-year, adjusted earnings are expected between $4.35 and $4.53. The consensus estimate stands at $4.2 billion.
