Hickelooper beats Gardner in Colorado, flips Senate seat for Democrats

Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper beat freshman Republican Sen. Cory Gardner and became the first candidate to flip a Senate seat for Democrats on Tuesday, according to a projection by Fox News.

The unofficial results in the closely watched race could narrow to three the number of additional seats that Democrats need to capture to regain control of the Senate.

But Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) is widely considered vulnerable to his Republican challenger, former Auburn University football coach Tommy Tuberville.

2020 Election: Donald Trump wins Kansas, Louisiana, Wyoming and Dakotas

President Trump is projected to win the traditionally red states of Kansas, Louisiana, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota, according to Fox News.

The commander-in-chief will also win four of Nebraska’s five electoral votes, the Associated Press reported.

Trump was always expected to win the conservative states and will pocket 27 electoral votes in his hotly contested race with opponent Joe Biden.

Joe Biden is projected to win the state of New Mexico and its five electoral votes, according to Fox News.

At a rally in Sept. 2019, President Trump vowed to win the Democratic stronghold, vowing to protect the state’s bombing oil and natural gas industry.

The last Republican to win New Mexico was President George W. Bush in 2004.

Hillary Clinton carried the state by 8 points in 2016, sweeping the suburban counties around Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

Joe Biden is projected to win the state of Illinois and its 20 electoral votes, according to the Associated Press.

The safety-Democratic state was carried by Hillary Clinton in 2016 and has voted Democratic in the past six presidential elections.

The midwestern state’s two Senate seats are also held by Democrats Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin.

President Trump is projected to win the state of Missouri and sweep its 10 electoral votes, according to the Associated Press.

The commander-in-chief triumphed over Hillary Clinton in the state in 2016 with 56 percent of the vote.

Trump was always expected to beat opponent Joe Biden in the Midwestern state which has swung hard to the right after John McCain narrowly beat Barack Obama there in 2008 by a razor-thin margin of just 3,903 votes.

The commander in chief pockets the states’ 10 collective electoral votes after handily winning both regions in 2016.

Both Idaho and Mississippi are Republican strongholds, however, it was Mississippi’s black Democratic voters, among other Southern states, which helped hand Joe Biden the Democratic Party nomination.

President Trump is projected to win Utah and its six electoral votes, according to MSNBC.

The commander-in-chief carried the ruby red state in 2016 with 45 percent of the vote.

The Beehive State, which is home to Sen. Mitt Romney, Trump’s biggest GOP foil in Congress, has not backed a Democrat since Lyndon B. Johnson carried the state in the 1964 election.

With Mayor de Blasio urging New Yorkers to avoid Thanksgiving travel, cosmetics scion Aerin Lauder has the best of both worlds.

Lauder, who has her own lifestyle brand, reveals in the new issue of Avenue that her mom, Jo Carole Lauder, hosts a family luncheon the day after Thanksgiving in a centuries-old log-cabin that was moved to their property in the Hamptons from Virginia before the pandemic.

“It is furnished with primitive Austrian wood furniture and filled with charm and history that transports us back to another era,” Lauder told the mag.

2020 Election: Joe Biden to address nation as election hangs in balance

Democratic nominee Joe Biden will address the nation at 12.30 a.m. as the presidential election hangs in the balance with must-win swing states still undeclared.

The former veep will speak from his hometown of Wilmington, Del. where he is gathered with his brain trust, the Biden campaign said.

As of 12.20 a.m on Wednesday morning, Biden holds 227 electoral votes to President Trump’s 210 as millions of mail-in votes cast amid the pandemic go uncounted.
