Helmerich & Payne Stock Slides 6%

Shares of Helmerich & Payne, Inc. (HP) are sliding more than 6 percent on morning trade on Tuesday. The shares have been on a decline since August 25.

Currently, shares are at $42.37, down 6.72 percent from the previous close of $45.42 on a volume of 209,671.

FaZe Holdings Stock Jumps 11%

Shares of FaZe Holdings Inc. (FAZE) are gaining over 11% on Tuesday morning.

FAZE is currently trading at $18.90, up $1.92 or 11.31%, on the Nasdaq, on a volume of 10 million shares, far above average volume of 1 million. The stock opened its trading at $23.32 after closing Monday’s trading at $16.98. The stock has traded between $8.02 and $24.69 in the past 52-week period.

In an SEC filing, the company reported that on August 25, the Board of Directors appointed Christoph Pachler as its Chief Financial Officer, effective on or before October 3, 2022.

Before joining the company, Pachler served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Critical Content, LLC from 2016 to 2022.

Ukraine Reclaims 4 Kherson Villages In Counter-offensive

Ukraine says it has reclaimed four villages in the Russian occupied Kherson region after weeks of counter-offensive against Russian forces in the south.

With high precision strikes, Ukrainian troops are destroying Russian warehouses and control points to cut off Russian supply lines.

Kherson’s Russian-backed leader Vladimir Leontiev said 15 missiles hit the region in the past two days.

Ukraine’s presidential adviser Oleksiy Arestovych said the country’s forces have broken through Russian defenses in many areas of the frontline.

“This process will not be very fast, but will end with the installation of the Ukrainian flag over all the settlements of Ukraine,” Arestovych said in a statement posted on his Telegram account Monday.

In his routine television address to the nation on the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vowed to “chase” Russian troops to the border.

“The occupiers must know: we will chase them to the border. To our border, which line has not been changed,” he said.

Meanwhile, a team of inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have arrived in Ukrainian capital Kiev ahead of their planned visit to he Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, which has constantly been under attack by Russian forces.

The team, headed by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi, consists of 14 experts from the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog.

Pioneer Natural Resources Shares Down 3%

Pioneer Natural Resources Co. (PXD) shares are declining more than 3 percent on Tuesday morning. The stock movement was not supported by any corporate announcements from the company.

Currently, shares are at $253.41, down 3.46 percent from the previous close of $262.50 on a volume of 1,027,700. For the 52-week period, the shares have traded in a range of $13.63-$288.46 on average volume of 2,666,641.

U.S. Monkeypox Cases Cross 18,000

The number of people infected with Monkeypox in the United States has crossed 18000.

A total of 18101 positive cases have been confirmed so far, according to the latest data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

2916 new confirmed cases were reported in the country in the last seven days, according to the World Health Organization.

Although the numbers are still on the rise nationally, the speed of the outbreak is apparently slowing down, CDC says.

With 3,291 cases, California is the worst-affected state. It is followed by New York (3197) and Florida (1,870).

Since the first case of the infectious viral disease was confirmed in the United States on May 18, cases spread across more than 60 jurisdictions in the country.

The United States has the world’s highest number of monkeypox cases.

On August 4, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared monkeypox a public health emergency.

Later, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had announced the Emergency Use Authorization of the JYNNEOS vaccine to be administered intradermally in individuals 18 years of age and older.

The White House National Monkeypox Response team announced a series of actions to further accelerate the Biden administration’s response to the monkeypox outbreak and mitigate the spread of the virus.

The LGBTQI+ community, especially men who have sex with men, is said to be most at risk of contracting the virus.

Seagate Technology Down 3%

Shares of data storage company Seagate Technology Holdings plc (STX) are down 3 percent on Tuesday’s trading continuing their downward movement since the past few days. There has not been any company specific news to impact the stock.

Seagate’s movement is in line with the U.S stock movement, which is in the red since early Tuesday morning.

Currently at $70.04, STX has traded between $67.36 and $117.67 during the past 52 weeks.

Dorian LPG Declines 9%

Dorian LPG Ltd. (LPG) shares are sliding more than 9 percent on Tuesday morning trade. There were no corporate announcements on the day to influence the stock movement.

Currently, shares are at $14.03, down 9.37 percent from the previous close of $15.48 on a volume of 687,748.

US Reports 89K New Covid Cases, 492 Deaths

With 89293 new cases reporting on Sunday, the total number of people infected with coronavirus in the country has risen to 94,283,777, as per Johns Hopkins University’s latest data.

492 additional deaths on the same day took the total U.S. Covid casualties to 1,044,355.

Texas reported the most number of cases – 17,907 – while Florida reported most deaths – 209 – due to the disease.

1994 additional deaths were reported globally on Sunday, taking the total number of people who lost their lives due to the pandemic so far to 6,488,926.

91,758,677 people have so far recovered from the disease, the Worldometer tally shows.

U.S. hospitals report a 10 percent decrease in the number of Covid patients. The number of I.C.U. admissions due to the worse stage of the viral disease has fallen by 8 percent.

U.S. Covid hospitalizations fell to 37,734. More than 10 percent of these patients are admitted in intensive care units.

The nation’s current test positivity rate is 15 percent.
