A woman from Southampton has perfectly summed up how people feel about British politics this week.
The unnamed lady was asked for her views on the current political malaise during for a BBC segment from the south coast city.
She was asked how she felt about Theresa May still being her Prime Minister, after fending off a coup from her hard Brexiteer backbenchers.
As if channelling the exhausted ennui of the nation, she declared: "Ha. I couldn’t care less."
Walking defiantly out of shot, she added: "I couldn’t care less about any of them."
It will call to mind the immortal words of Brenda from Bristol, who reacted to the news Mrs May had called a snap election in 2017 by saying: "You’re joking. Not another one!"
In scenes that will live on in infamy, a warning shot to blinkered politicians plotting to inflict more news on an unreceptive populous, she added: "Oh for God’s sake. I can’t, honestly. I can’t stand this.
"There’s too much politics going on at the moment. Why does she need to do it?"
Reminded that Mrs May suggested the 2017 race would "sort things out", Brenda added: "I thought she said that when she took over. No. No. I disagree with this entirely. I’m sorry."
