A man has been arrested as a suspect in a Denver sex-assault case, and investigators are looking at similar incidents in which victims were forced or lured into a car.
Abiye Adamu, 31, was arrested on Tuesday and is being held for investigation of sexual assault and kidnapping connected to a Sunday incident, Denver police said in a news release.
Police said Thursday that investigators are looking at other recent sex assaults — committed between Nov. 25 and Monday — in which Adamu “is believed to be involved.”
In those cases victims are lured or forced into a vehicle, described as a black 2016 Honda Civic, according to a news release. Those cases happened in the areas of:
- 17th and Wynkoop streets;
- East 16th Avenue and Logan Street;
- 17th Street and Broadway;
- East Colfax Avenue and Clarkson Street.
Forensic evidence links Adamu to the sex assault arrest, police said.
Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call police at 720-913-2000.
