A babysitter has been accused of attacking a baby's mum before throwing the tot in a bin.
Andiana Velez has been charged on multiple counts in connection to the incident, after an eight-month-old was found.
The infant was discovered at around 2pm on Monday, abandoned in outside an apartment complex in New Haven. She was injured but alive.
She is currently in hospital being treated for burns which appeared on her hand, though it is unknown what caused them.
The babysitter was arrested and charged with risk of injury to a child, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment, reports The Daily Voice.

Police have also alleged Velez assaulted the baby's 21-year-old mum earlier the same day.
New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker revealed his horror at the finding the baby in a bin.
Elicker told the New Haven Register: “As a father, it is unthinkable for someone to do this to a child.”
The tot was found by a tenant who then alerted maintenance workers in the apartment complex.
Rick Chardon, a maintenance technician at Presidential Gardens, said: “Ridiculous. Ridiculous. A blatant disregard for life all together."
Dee LaGrande, a resident of Presidential Gardens who has lived there for nine years said: “This is horrible…. people are actually throwing babies in the trash can? For this to happen, it’s crazy.”
Locals Ruth Harris and Margaret Outlaw also voiced their shock over the incident.
Harris said: “That’s got to be the saddest thing ever. How can… any person, be that cruel?
“It just tears your heart up inside… It hurts me and it’s not even my child.”
“How do you walk away?" Outlaw added.
Authorities have located the baby's mum and are currently conducting an investigation.
