Cockapoo puppy makes heroic bid for freedom from cage – but fails miserably

The owner of an adorable Cockapoo puppy was left amazed after re-watching their pet camera to find out how the pooch kept escaping her cage.

Lovable pup Calypso, Callie for short, has racked up thousands of followers on her dedicated Instagram thanks in no part to her impossibly cute appearance.

But looks can often be deceiving and one video has captured how the dog still has a mischievous streak.

The video shows the four-month-old pup putting on her best Steve McQueen impression for her very own great escape out of her dog cage.

She stands on her hind legs and gradually crawls herself up to the top before losing grip at the last moment and tumbling back down to the ground.

While the attempt didn’t quite go according to plan, according to the video’s captions that hasn’t always been the case.

“Looks like we accidentally brought home a monkey, not a doggo,” her owners wrote.

“We had to spy on her to find out how she was escaping and we’ve blocked it now so she can’t get hurt.”

The video has unsurprisingly proven popular online, being seen more than 700 times since it was posted last month.
