A suspect in a carjacking in Denver was shot Thursday morning by the driver of a second car he tried to steal, police said.
The suspect was found at about 8 a.m. in the 2100 block of South Ash Street, where he fled after attempting the second carjacking, said police spokesman Jay Casillas said.
The man was taken to the hospital. His condition was unknown.
Casillas said the chain of events started with a carjacking at around 6:30 a.m. at Speer Boulevard and Colfax Avenue. It’s unclear if the suspect was armed. The victim wasn’t injured, Casillas said.
The suspect tried to take another car a little later near Downing Street and Buchtel Boulevard and the driver shot him, Casillas said. The driver wasn’t injured.
