The sky over Denver will be mostly sunny on Saturday with light snow developing in the mountains where winds will be gusty above timberline.
In Denver on Saturday the high temperature will be near 47 degrees and winds will be light, according to the National Weather Service forecast. In the mountains, 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation is possible for higher west-facing slopes by Saturday night with areas of blowing snow on mountain passes. Weather on the Eastern Plains will be dry on Saturday.
An avalanche warning — with very dangerous conditions — is posted by the Colorado Avalanche Information Center for the Park and Elkhead mountains on Saturday. Heightened avalanche concerns are in play Saturday in mountain areas around the state, people on backcountry trails and terrain are urged to be cautious and conservative in deciding routes to use.
In Denver on Saturday night skies will be partly cloudy and the low temperature will be near 28 degrees, the weather service said. On Sunday, skies in the metro area be mostly sunny and the high temperature will be about 54 degrees.
In Denver on Monday mostly sunny skies will give way to a 20% chance of afternoon rain, the weather service said. The high temperature will top out near 53 degrees and winds are expected to gust to about 17 mph. There’s a slight chance for snow in the metro area late Monday afternoon and into the night. On Monday night in Denver the overnight low will drop to about 26 degrees, with snow possible after 8 p.m. and a 30% chance of precipitation.
Mostly sunny skies are in the Denver forecast on Tuesday with a high temp of about 49 degrees.
