Princess Diana has been named "the most attractive" royal of all time.

Diana's stunning looks scored highly on the "Golden Ratio" – a method adopted by ancient Greeks to calculate what they believed to be "physical perfection".

Using the latest facial mapping technology, Harley Street cosmetic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva revealed Di's striking features set her apart from her daughters-in-law, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

The system looked at several facial features, including eyes, nose width, lips, forehead and chin – with the late royal, who tragically died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 aged 36, scoring an impressive 89.05% overall.

She narrowly pipped Queen Rania of Jordon, 50, who was named the most beautiful living royal with a total of 88.9%.

Famed Hollywood icon and Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly came third with 88.8%.

Then came British pair Meghan and Kate, who scored 87.4% and 86.8%, respectively.

"Diana, Meghan and Kate are all very beautiful women," said Dr De Silva, who runs London's Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery.

"But when measured against the Greeks’ Golden Ratio of physical perfection, Princess Diana comes out on top.

“She was several points ahead of Meghan and Kate and just pipped the stunningly attractive Queen Rania to the title of most beautiful royal of all time.

“Diana scored highly for her face shape, the width of her nose, her brow area and her eyebrows. Her lowest scores were for her chin and lips."

He added that Meghan's "beautiful face symmetry," citing her "almost perfectly shaped nose and a gorgeous V-shaped chin."

He also praised Kate's "strong eye spacing" and the "perfect gap" between her nose and lips.

"But she was marked down for having a weaker chin and jawline than the other royal princesses," he said.

Dr De Silva has previously claimed supermodel Bella Hadid was the "most beautiful woman in the world" after using the technique on celebrities.

She scored 94.35% on the Golden Ratio – beating even Diana.

The top scoring male was new Batman star Robert Pattinson, 33, with 92.15%.
