Girl, two, fighting for life after falling from third-floor flat window in Clydebank

A TODDLER is fighting for life in hospital after a horror plunge from a flat window in Clydebank today.

Emergency crews raced to Dumbarton Road in the town near Glasgow at 2.10pm.

The two-year-old girl sustained "serious injuries" after falling from the top floor flat window.

She has been taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where medics describe her condition as critical.

Appealing for witnesses, Detective Inspector Steve Martin said: “The little girl has sustained very serious injuries and we are trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"As such we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the child fall or anyone who has seen her at the window prior to her falling.


“A number of people were in the area at the time and came to the assistance of the girl and it is important that we speak to all of these people, therefore if any of these people left before speaking to police, we urge them to contact police immediately.

I also ask any motorists who were in the vicinity around 2.10 pm today to check their dash cam footage to see if they have captured the incident.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1407 hours today to attend an incident at Dumbarton Road, Clydebank.

"We dispatched an ambulance, the trauma team and our special operations response team to the scene and one patient was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.”
