Meghan Markle and Prince Harry named their daughter Lilibet, which means “God’s promise.”

She had announced her pregnancy on February 14, 2021, after revealing she had suffered a miscarriage a year after Archie was born.

In the article, she described the feeling as "an almost unbearable grief."

"I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second," Meghan wrote after feeling sharp cramps in her body.

Lilibet was born at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

According to the Sussexes’ press secretary, Lilibet and Meghan are “healthy and at home.”

How does the name Lilibet relate to Queen Elizabeth?

According to a statement by the family, Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet."

“Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.”

Prince Philip used to call Queen Elizabeth "Lilibet" which was also her childhood nickname.

Meghan revealed she was having a baby girl during her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March.

When Oprah asked Harry how he felt when he learned that their second child would be a girl, he replied: "Amazing. Just grateful, like—to have any child, any one or any two would have been amazing, but to have a boy and then a girl, what more can you ask for?"

Adding: "Now we've got our family. We've got the four of us and our two dogs and it's great."

What did Meghan and Harry say about their daughter?

Meghan penned a heartfelt message via their Archewell website regarding the birth of Lilibet, saying: "On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili.
