A royal commentator has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may use an alternative Christmas message from their US base to take back control of the headlines about them this year.
Traditionally, the Queen’s speech, broadcast on Christmas day, marks the royals’ celebration of the festive season.
And with Winter approaching in the UK, royal fans have been speculating whether Harry and Meghan will make the trip across the pond to celebrate the occasion with the Royal Family.
Now, speaking on his YouTube channel, royal commentator Neil Sean has speculated that instead of visiting their family, the Sussexes might release their own message.
“Now, according to a very good source, allegedly, Harry and Meghan are wondering and positively thinking forward about producing their own Christmas message, apparently to their fans around the world,” he suggested.
“It’s not a bad idea, but you do wonder why, why do you need to produce a message?
“Why not simply put out a Christmas message wishing everybody Merry Christmas and Happy New Year?"
Since leaving the royal family in March last year, the couple’s relationship with ‘The Firm’ has supposedly deteriorated.
This came to a head after a revealing interview with US chat show host Oprah Winfrey, where the pair explained their departure from royal duties, and Harry acknowledged that he and his brother are now “on different paths”.
Meghan also alleged that an unnamed royal had made comments about the colour of their eldest child Archie’s skin.
In a previous video, Neil suggested that the Queen will largely avoid discussing any "Royal Family troubles" in her Christmas speech, and now, the royal commentator has speculated that the Sussex's message might allow them to take control of the headlines.
“A lot of people are also saying that if this goes ahead – and it could possibly go ahead – then this could be a way of them taking back some of the headlines that they’ve encountered over the last twelve months,” Neil suggested.
“But really, is Christmas the time of year to start scoring points?
“As one source pointed out, lots of people will want to share their Christmas with Harry and Meghan, particularly if they were to share for the first time, pictures or images of their children.”
Although the couple confirmed they would not be returning to the UK to attend a ceremony to honour Princess Diana, Harry and Meghan are yet to announce their Christmas holiday plans.
