Lockheed Martin shooting at nuke weapons-maker plant leaves one dead near Fort Worth naval base

GUNFIRE erupted outside a nuke weapons-maker plant, leaving one dead as police lock down the facility.

The shooting unfolded at the front gates of the Lockheed Martin plant in White Settlement, Texas, early Thursday morning.


According to the White Settlement Police Department, one person was killed at the facility's main gate.

Officials also confirmed the suspect was killed from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police stressed that the shooting was an isolated incident, not an active shooter.

Cops said the suspect, who has not been identified, made comments that he was "looking for a federal agent on the property."

The plant is near the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base on the west side of Fort Worth.

About an hour after the initial shooting, the WSPD said the Fort Worth Police Department's bomb technicians were assisting them after a suspicious device was found in the suspect's car.
