Man caught performing sex act in a church’s baptism in unusual series of events

A man caught performing a sex act in a church’s baptism font is being hunter by police in South Buckinghamshire.

The individual, believed to be a male, was spotted in an unnamed church next to a baptism font.

He is understood to have been caught performing a sex act and bolted after police were alerted.

Chiltern and South Bucks policing team have since launched an investigation and have sent an alert to nearby residents.

Police believe the man may be connected to other criminal acts involving religious venues in the area.

In a statement, Chiltern and South Bucks neighbourhood policing team administrator, Ian Stacey, released a statement about the incident.

She warned residents about an "unusual series of occurrences" in the area.

Ms Stacey asked those managing places of worship to "review existing security arrangements" following the act.

She also said security is especially important now as lockdown measures may reduce the frequency these buildings are being attended.

Ms Stacey said: "Ian Stacey, Chiltern and South Bucks neighbourhood policing team administrator, wrote: "This is an unusual series of occurrences and it is requested that those managing places of worship, review their existing security arrangements; especially as imminent lockdown measures will reduce the frequency upon which these buildings are attended."

A baptismal font is a piece of furniture at the front of a church used for baptism.
