Mercedes-driving travellers set up camp near Windsor Castle and 'intimidate locals on quad bikes'

TRAVELLERS have set up camp in a picturesque Berkshire village less than two miles from Windsor Castle and Eton

A group of around 30 caravans initially rocked up in the area on Sunday, when they allegedly broke into an empty business park near Heathrow's Terminal 5 and the M4.

The land owners later employed a 24-hour security firm who moved them on.

Now they are pitched next to the Queen Mother Reservoir, close to the village of Datchet

Locals there claim the travellers broke down an entrance barrier, causing £5,000's worth of damage, and have been “intimidating” dog walkers.

Photos show rubbish littering the area where the vehicles are parked and young women wandering about in dressing gowns.

A flash white Merc has also been seen parked up with the caravans.

Travellers have been “riding up and down on quad bikes and intimidating locals”, in scenes described as “anarchy,"  by locals the MailOnline reports.

The area was severely flooded in rainstorms that fell in the winter of 2013 into the early months of 2014.

So far cops and council officers do not appear to have been called to the scene to move them on.
