A man with a knife bit a woman on the hip as he tried to rape her, police said.

The harrowing incident unfolded Friday evening in Queens, as the victim was walking past along 92nd Street in Woodhaven, police said.

The man approached from behind, pushing the woman to the ground and flashing a knife as he got on top of her and stole $5, authorities said.

He then covered the victim’s mouth, warned her not to scream, and began to pull down her pants, “at which point he bit her on her exposed left hip,” police said.

A Good Samaritan interrupted the attack, and the suspect ran south on 92nd Street.

The shaken woman — who suffered a bite wound — was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, cops said.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance to identify the attacker — who is believed to be about 30-years-old with a medium build, black hair, and was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, black shirt, black pants, black shoes and carrying a black backpack, cops said.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). All calls are strictly confidential.
