Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are putting the Queen in a “very difficult position” with their baptism plans for Lilibet, a royal expert has said.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly want their daughter to be christened at Windsor Castle in front of the Queen.

A royal source told the Daily Mail that “they are happy to wait until circumstances allow”.

However, royal author Angela Levin believes the monarch may not attend – having already missed Archie’s christening in 2019.

She believes Her Majesty doesn’t always make the ceremonies because the kids are "not close enough to the Crown”.

Angela told TalkRadio: “It puts her in a very difficult position because she can't say that she is not free for years.

“She didn't go to Louis', the third child of Prince William and Kate. So it's not a spiteful thing.”

If the couple did make the trip, it would be Meghan’s first visit to the UK since they quit royal duties.

Earlier this week, a royal expert told the Daily Star thatPrince Georgemay end up meeting cousin Lilibet during a call on his birthday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s son turns eight today, July 22.

Although the Cambridges have yet to confirm any plans, they may share a call with Harry and Meghan.

Royal author and expert Marlene Koenig, who runsroyalmusings, said: “We don’t know what goes on behind the scenes.

“Catherine did say she looked forward to seeing Lilibet so perhaps there’ll be a Zoom call or whatever or FaceTime from uncle Harry in California.

“But one wonders about that, because Harry did not spend a lot of time during his recent visit.”

Harry andPrince Williamwere reunited earlier this month in the grounds of Kensington Palace, as they unveiled a statue in tribute to their late mum Princess Diana.

The Duke of Sussex stayed for a polite drink after the event ended at 2.45pm, it is claimed.

However, he was driven out of the palace grounds just 20 minutes later, according to theDaily Mail.
