Prince Harry and Prince William have spoken to each other in the wake of the Oprah Winfrey interview, a friend of Meghan Markle’s claimed.
Gayle King told CBS This Morning that she had spoken with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the weekend.
But Gayle claimed the talks with William and Prince Charles, the first time they had been in contact since the explosive interview first aired on March 7, were unproductive.
In a string of bombshell claims Harry claimed his brother William and Prince Charles were "trapped" in the monarchy by their royal responsibilities.
Meghan Markle also claimed that Kate Middleton made her cry in a row over bridesmaid dresses while the couple said that a member of the royal family was concerned about the skin tone of baby Archie.
The formerly close brothers have not spoken to each other much over the past year after Harry and Meghan decided to step back from royal duties.
After the interview aired William said he would be speaking to his brother when quizzed by journalists at a visit to a school.
When asked if he had spoken to Harry on Thursday, William replied: "No, I haven’t spoken to him yet but I will do."
The second in line to the throne also refuted accusations of racism in the Royal family as he said it was "very much not a racist family".
Gayle King is a close pal of Meghan, 39.
The TV personality told CBS that her friend is a "very sweet, caring person".
She added: "I have to say Meghan has documents to back up everything that she said on Oprah’s interview. The family has to acknowledge there are issues.
"Right now, no one has acknowledged, Houston we have a problem here.
"That's really all they want. They both want a conversation."
