Prince Harry seemed "almost worried" to meet his brother Prince William's eye because he knew he was "incensed" over the Oprah Winfrey interview, it has been claimed.

The siblings saw each other for the first time since the explosive telly interview when Harry returned to the UK to attend Prince Philip's funeral.

The pair shared a private chat afterwards, with William's wife Kate Middleton reportedly acting as peacemaker, but before the service insiders said Harry seemed "almost worried" to meet his brother's eye.

A source told Vanity Fair: "It was a case of being told to put their differences aside by the Queen for the sake of the family.

"William and other members of the family have some very strong feelings about some of the things Harry and Meghan said on Oprah and things need to be talked through, but this was not the occasion and everyone respected that.

"It's going to take more than a wake to sort things out, but this is hopefully a start."

Philip died earlier in April aged 99.

William was said to be "incensed" over some of the claims made by his brother and Meghan Markle in their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey which has rocked the Royal family.

He is also said to be angry that details of a private conversation he had with Harry were revealed in the US media by Meghan's pal Gayle King.

The source continued: "Harry was out in the cold after Oprah and then when details of private family conversations were leaked to Gayle King it was the final straw.

"Some family members cannot believe what he has done but there is a feeling that with the Duke's death and the family coming together, conversations need to be had."

Kate has been credited with getting William and Harry talking after the service.

She is believed to have joined clear the air talks at Harry's former home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, with the brothers and Prince Charles.

Charles is said to be "desperate" for a reconciliation with his son, while William has said he hopes the pair can repair their relationship over time.

The source added: "William needs to know he can trust Harry and that private conversations will stay private."

Harry was expected to fly home to pregnant wife Meghan on Monday.
