Shocking clip shows brawl at petrol station after woman ‘refused to wear mask’

Shocking footage has captured a fight breaking out at a petrol station which was sparked after a woman refused to wear a mask, it is claimed.

Two women were attacking another woman at a petrol station in Oldham, Greater Manchester, which is under Tier 3 – the strictest Covid restrictions.

The bust-up started after a couple flew into a rage and confronted a group of people for not wearing face coverings, it is alleged.

In the dramatic clip a man is seen talking to another man in a red jacket, before putting his hands on him as a woman in grey, who is not wearing a mask look on.

Two women then attack the woman in grey, with one hitting her across the head with her right hand.

Cops say a man and a woman in their 40s were assaulted during the fight.

A woman can be heard saying in the video: "They refused to wear a mask. I'm clinically vulnerable".

Witnesses are heard asking the injured people if they're OK.

Next a woman screams "wear a mask it's the law" as three people drive away in a vehicle.

No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing.

Police confirmed 41-year-old man was treated for minor injuries while still on the scene.

Superintendent Niall Hayden-Pawson said: “We are aware that there is footage circulating on social media in relation to this assault.

"However, I would like to make it clear that this footage does not capture the entire disagreement which is why we are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information that will help us in our investigation.

“Our officers are trying to piece together the exact circumstances which led to this assault. If you have any information at all that will assist with our enquiries and help us to establish the full picture of events then please do not hesitate to contact police."

In the seven days leading up to October 15, Oldham had a rate of 409 coronavirus cases per 100,000 people.
