Shoppers race to buy Easter eggs at Morrisons as prices drop to £1.99

Shoppers race to buy large Easter eggs at Morrisons as supermarket cuts price of major brands to just £1.99 each

  • Morrisons has slashed the cost of Easter Eggs in their stores
  • Until March 7, customers can buy the Cadbury and Thornton eggs for just £1.99

Shoppers have stampeded to Morrisons to take advantage of a cracking new Easter deal that has seen the supermarket giant slash the price of brand eggs to £1.99.

Normally, shoppers hoping to bag a top egg from brands like Thorntons and Cadbury would have to shell out about £3.25.

But Morrisons has smashed their prices in a limited deal which will see bargain eggs fly off the shelves until March 7.

However punters have been warned they will only be able to purchase four eggs per person.

The news comes after the supermarket took the decision to launch a wave of price cuts across 64 own brand products earlier this month.

Many eggs on the Morrisons website have been reduced to £1.99

Morrisons said it had invested £25 million to reduce prices by an average of 19 per cent on products such as: fresh produce like salad vegetables, carrots and potatoes and cupboard essentials including coffee and rice.

It said promotional offers would also help customers get more for their money, with deals such as 2 for £2 on selected crisps, 3 for £2 on soft drinks and 2 for £1.80 on cereals.

David Potts, Chief Executive, said: ‘We are just seven weeks into 2023 and already this is our fifth significant price activity of the year.

‘These latest price cuts follow hard on the heels of two notable in store price cuts involving well over 1,000 products, and two strong fuel promotions, demonstrating our determination and commitment to make a positive difference to our customers’ pockets.’
