Sick trophy hunting honeymoons offered for £5k including take-home stuffed heads

Newlyweds are being offered sick trophy-hunting honeymoons killing animals on safari.

Loved-up Britons can fork out £5,127 for a holiday with luxury lodgings – and the chance to slaughter four beasts.

The Honeymoon Hunt deal is currently being promoted by “click and kill” website BookYourHunt.com. It costs an extra £976 to kill zebras and £2,169 for giraffes.

Couples can also pay to have the heads stuffed to take home as “romantic” keepsakes.

The website says: “The Romance of Safari – these hunts are as unique as the couples they are designed for.

“Couples can choose from a multitude of activities to experience together during their hunt.

"Take the first step towards an unforgettable journey in life.”

The deals were blasted by Eduardo Goncalves, founder of the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting.

He said: “The package honeymoon hunts are the latest sick trend by an industry that makes millions from helping people kill for thrills.

“You can shoot ‘his and hers’ animals and then gaze lovingly into each other’s eyes as you pose for a romantic post-kill snap.

"Even the bridal suite is festooned with animal heads and skins.”

He added: “The Government must act now to stop the slaughter of vulnerable wildlife for selfies and souvenirs before it’s too late.”

Trophy hunting imports into the UK are set to be banned, although the legislation has been slowed down by the coronavirus pandemic and Brexit.

Some 2,500 trophies from protected species have been imported into the country since 2010, including elephant ears and hippo teeth.
