VIDEO shows the terrifying moment a man with a SWORD and shield brandishes the blade at Sacramento protesters.
The California incident came amid ongoing Black Lives Matter demonstrations, following the shooting of Jacob Blake.
Video shows a man waving his sword and thrusting it at demonstrators.
In one clip, the man was seen stabbing the sword at a demonstrator who appeared to hold an umbrella in front of themselves to block the blade.
He had a large shield and wore a helmet.
KCRA reported that the man had a shirt on with a flag that appeared it may have been in support of the "blue line" – but it was not clear.
In one picture shared on social media, the man was identified as a "ThinBlueLine/BlueLivesMatter counter-protester."
The man was "subdued" by police and taken away by an ambulance, KOVR reported.
No one was injured in the incident, KOVR reported.
Sacramento Police Department said around 150 to 200 demonstrators began marching from Chavez Park on Friday night.
"Many subjects have helmets, shields, armor and weapons. Rolling road closures are in effect. Heavy law enforcement presence downtown," police said.
Cops said some demonstrators pointed lasers at officers.
As the crowd dispersed, police said one person was detained after it was reported that he had a gun – which was found to be a BB gun.
Police said no arrests were made, but cops were continuing to investigate reported vandalism.
The incident of the man brandishing the sword came just days after a fatal shooting at a demonstration in Kenosha on Tuesday night.
Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, has been charged after he allegedly opened fire on a crowd of demonstrators, killing two and injuring at least one other.
Joseph D. Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, were identified as the two men killed in the shooting.
Rittenhouse's lawyer has claimed the incident was self-defense.
Renewed energy in Black Lives Matter demonstrations comes after Jacob Blake was shot seven times by police on Sunday.
Blake's family and lawyers claim the 29-year-old black man did not do anything to provoke the incident.
Rusten Sheskey, who was identified as the officer that shot Blake, along with officers Brittany Meronek and Vincent Arena, have all been placed on administrative leave following the incident.
The shooting of Blake follows just months after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
