Woman’s skin grafts for grim injuries after dog chewed her ‘like piece of meat’

Graphic images have documented the horror wounds a woman suffered after a large dog severely attacked her and chewed her like "a piece of meat".

The woman, 52, who does not wish to be identified, was on the receiving end of a brutal Bully Kutta attack after she walked her two small dogs.

Eight months on from the attack and she is still recovering, spending three weeks receiving a skin graft in hospital, stitches and intense rehab to recover her walking.

The dog bite on her right thigh was said to have been so deep that it severed through nerves and a chunk of muscle tissue.

The attack has left the woman "scarred" and with no feeling below the knee, and she is still unsure of whether prosecution has been brought toward the owner of the vicious dog.

She said: "Why are people still allowed to own dogs like this? There have been two very young children killed recently in different parts of the country because of dog attacks, and something needs to be done or else it’s going to happen again.

"It grabbed onto my leg and wouldn’t let go.

"The only way I can describe it is to say it’s as if it had a piece of meat in its mouth and it was trying to chew its way to the bone."

The 52-year-old added that the horror attack had come at an "extremely stressful" time as she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer.

On the day of the attack, she had been celebrating her longest walk in three months after heading through chemotherapy treatments.

She added: "The dog was frenzied, that's the only way I can describe it. It was horrendous. I know the other lady who was attacked, and how that dog didn't kill her, I have no idea."

The woman is now campaigning for restrictions over vicious dogs, adding: "I can't believe the dog is still alive, because had I been with a toddler it would've killed it."
